Joint Singles Scheme Operator-Run (JSS-OR) at Senja Close

Blue Cross Charitable Institution proudly serves as the Managing Agent for the HDB Joint Singles Scheme Operator-Run (JSS-OR) project at Senja Close. The JSS-OR, along with the existing Joint Singles Scheme (JSS), offers subsidised public rental flats for lower-income individuals who lack family support or other housing options.

About the JSS-OR

The JSS-OR allows lower-income individuals to apply for a public rental flat without needing to find a flatmate first. Instead, the Managing Agent assigns compatible flatmates based on considerations such as age, gender, ethnicity, and living habits. This approach provides a practical and supportive alternative for singles seeking subsidised public rental housing.

The JSS-OR project features a mix of 1- and 2-room flats, partitioned to accommodate two or three persons per flat, respectively. These units are fully furnished with household appliances including wardrobes, washing machines, water heaters, and fridges, allowing tenants to move in with ease.

Conflict Resolution

To ensure a harmonious living environment, the Managing Agent actively mediates any disagreements between flatmates, fostering a supportive and respectful community.

Facilities and Management

Currently, BCCI manages approximately 33 flats under the JSS-OR at Senja Close, providing accommodation for about 82 individuals. The flats are designed to create a comfortable and conducive living space for all residents.
