Longest Dragon Sculpture Made Of Plastic Cutlery

Blue Cross Charitable Institution and its 10 affiliated temples celebrated Chinese New Year with prayers and a lunch at its Pasir Panjang premises on 25 Feb 2018. Displayed proudly at the main entrance was a 7.6m dragon made of plastic spoons, wire and papier marche, built by the organisation's volunteers.

Largest Rice Art Display

Blue Cross Charitable Institution was established in 1942 by some local temples during the Japanese Occupation to take care of the diseased, homeless and unattended corpses. For its 75th anniversary celebration, brown and white rice were used to create the portrait of Song Dafeng (born in AD1039) who was a Chinese warrior, magistrate, monk, and founder of temples in the Teochew region in in Guangdong which the Singapore temples are affiliated to.
